I’ve often heard many people saying they don’t see miracles anymore. It’s like He just stopped after the Bible was written. Now, I have a serious problem with this. Let’s stop for a moment and take a look. The Bible is full of miracles, this is true. So many times we have read of amazing acts that the Most High has done to show his power and love.
Still, we don’t see these things in today’s world. Why not? Has God changed? Did he retire from miracles? If not, why don’t we see the things we have read about so many times?
The answer to this is very simple, if you ask me. No God has never changed, we have. Jesus tells us that with the faith of a mustard seed we can move mountains, so why are we not seeing mountains move? Still, let’s stop and take a closer look at God’s finger prints on our lives.
How many times have you looked at a sunrise or set and never thought twice about it? How many mornings have we woke up and rushed through the day and never stopped to think of how blessed we are to have another day with our friends and family? It’s the little things in life that are the biggest miracles. The ones we all too often over look, that really and truly tell us just how much the Father loves us.
We have gotten to a point in our world that expect to see rivers part or water turned to whine in order for us to say, “it’s a miracle!” How small has our faith gotten? Look at the children that are born that the doctors said would never make it? When a soldier returns home from war or when a cancer patient is cured without any explanation; those are God’s finger prints on our lives.
Let’s take a look at a child born premature. All odds say they will not make it; never live past a few days. Still, how many times have we watched one of these little miracles grow up? Yet, we still look to the sky to see a HUGE miracle from the Father to show His power.
How about when a tornado rips through a state, yet never harms a person or even a home? How about the times that cars have crashed and the statistics say the person will not live, yet they are still here today? The problem is not that God doesn’t move in our world today. The problem is we are all too often looking to the sky, missing out on the blessings and miracles He has put right in front of us today.
I’ve learned this fact in my life; God is always throwing miracles at us. His finger prints are on our lives constantly. If we want to see His love, His power, His blessings we need only open our eyes and look. Stop looking to the sky, and look forward. His finger prints, His blessings are right here. It’s the little things in life that speak His love more than any amount water being parted. The very air we breath shows His mercy and grace on our lives. We want miracles, to show His presence in our lives? It’s simple, stop looking for mountains to move and start looking at the small things. When we can recognize His every day miracles, when we let our faith grow through our daily blessings, that is when He has the chance to truly show His might and His love.
